Construction Surveys
All non-construction drawings carry a disclaimer "Not to be used for Construction." In doing mortgage surveys we look for and show boundary conflicts. In construction surveys we resolve them. (We still note apparent conflicts, but we provide defensible boundaries to proceed with.)
We check and show set-back requirements. We calculate area. We set elevations. We set every pin and monument at every corner with our own name on it. (Rather than finding an old one and calling it a tenth north and two tenths east. What the heck is a tenth, anyway?)
There is a massive liability issue. Surveyors that get driven out of business fall prey mostly to construction problems.
